For non viscous liquids, it is possible to use channels with low hydraulic range. On this basis, TAMI Industries has created a new filtration ceramic membrane which allows an exchange area of 0.6 m² inside a 25 mm outside diameter tube for a length of 1200 mm. This exchange area is given by the way of 93 channels of 1.6 mm hydraulic diameter. The compactness of this membrane, defined by the ratio (membrane exchange area/membrane volume) is equal to 1019 m²/m3 which is a record-breaking performance for this kind of membrane.
This membrane is also characterized by an improvement of mechanical characteristics obtained by the growth of the thickness according to a centrifugal direction of porous areas separating the rings of channels.
